opular anime, “Gunbuster”, gets a revival in 2011

If you were a fan of the anime “Top wo Nerae!” a.k.a. “Aim for the Top! Gunbuster“, then you’re in for some happy news.

GAINAX and Bandai Visual will start a new serialization of the series starting January 1, 2011.

“Gunbuster” was directed by Hideaki Anno, best known for “Neon Genisis EVANGELION”. The series was originally a six episode OVA (Original Video Animation) in 1988 and the story revolved around school girl, Noriko Takaya, who follows in her father’s footsteps, Admiral Yuzo Takaya. Noriko trains to pilot the machine called “Gunbuster”, made to fight the aliens in space. She is joined by Coach

Ota, Kazumi and Jung, who help Noriko overcome her fears and struggles as she aims to become Gunbuster’s pilot.
